Advanced Solar Photonics to Supply PV Modules and Racking System for City of Charlottesville

108kW Solar Power Plant Project for Virginia School to Feature Made in America Components

LAKE MARY, FL., January 3, 2012 ‐ Advanced Solar Photonics (ASP), a leading manufacturer of crystalline PV PV modules, solar generators and racking systems for residential, commercial and utility applications today announced it will supply Charlottesville City Schools in Virginia with PV equipment for a 108kW solar power plant to be located at Charlottesville High School.

The solar energy project, scheduled to begin in early 2012 will be supplied with the ASP Fusion™ Solar Kit which includes American made crystalline PV modules, SunRail™ racking systems, grid‐tied PV inverters and balance of system components from the ASP manufacturing facility in Lake Mary, Florida.

ASP Fusion solar kits are complete photovoltaic (PV) power equipment kits ranging in sizes from 5kW to 266kW. They are ideally suited for commercial and public sector applications. Each Fusion kit is pre‐engineered to optimize system performance and meet applicable NEC codes and requirements.

Charlottesville City Schools received the top award for its category in the 2011 Green Schools Challenge, an initiative of the Virginia Municipal League in partnership with the Virginia School Boards Association that encourages implementation of environmental policies and practices that reduce carbon emissions generated by the local school division and the broader community.

Charlottesville High School is part of a city‐wide green initiative that has adopted energy efficiency as part of ongoing instruction at all grade levels and a way of life outside of the school day. The school’s renewable energy efforts not only save money but serve as learning labs for students and teachers.

Advanced Solar Photonics, LLC (ASP), a wholly owned subsidiary of BlueChip Energy, is a manufacturing and research and development center for crystalline silicon solar photovoltaic (PV) modules for utility, commercial and residential applications. Based on the latest cell efficiency, light transmission, and encapsulation technologies, ASP focuses on high‐efficiency, state‐of‐the‐art solar
PV modules ranging from 200 Watts to 400 Watts.

ASP is the third largest producer of crystalline silicon PV modules in the United States and is one of the few producers in the US of Buy American Act compliant products suitable for government, military and municipal projects and meeting the requirements of Section 1605 of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
