Job Accountabilities:

Perform PCB design/layout and occasional schematic capture using PADS Layout and PADS Logic software.

Gather requirements, drawings, and design notes for each PCB design from various stakeholders.

Participate in Engineering design reviews.

Generate the full documentation design package of Gerber, fabrication, and assembly files.

Help define department guidelines and standards, especially those pertaining to component library process.

Generate and manage the company’s component schematic symbols and PCB decal libraries.

Perform quality control reviews of library components and design packages created by other design team members and outside vendors.

Incorporate Design for Manufacturing (DFM) rules.

Organize/manage multiple projects, communicating effectively with a multi-disciplined engineering team.

Support production and post-production with development and resolution of Engineering Change Orders.

10+ years experience with layout and routing of multi-layer PCBs implementing mixed signal, analog and high-speed digital circuits including DSP, audio converter, FPGA, and switch-mode power supply components.

Experience designing with fine-pitch surface-mount, BGA, DFN, and through-hole components.

Experience building and maintaining component symbol and decal libraries in PADS software.

Understanding mixed signal, low noise, and high speed design techniques, controlling impedance, maximizing performance, minimizing cross talk and intra-board interference.

Designing for EMI and ESD compliance, regulatory testing.

Optimization for cost and manufacturability.

Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.

Technical leadership and organizational skills to manage multiple projects.
