Utility Solar Farms

ASP’s 300 Watt monocrystalline solar panel module is ideal for utility scaled applications such as Solar Farms. Solar Farms are primarily placed in large open land such as the desert or Brownfield land where nothing else can be built. Many companies will enter into what is known as a Power Purchase Agreement with a utility company in which they will purchase the energy produced from the solar farm.

According, to the Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) utility companies are required by law to have a percentage of their energy produced from solar energy. The goal is 20% of energy produced from utility companies will come from renewable sources by 2020. ASP’s 300W model works great for this because of its large size you can increase the amount of power produced per square footage. These ASP Panels have the highest efficiency levels of all solar panels, reducing the amount of panels needed per project and potentially lower the overall cost.

Silicon is the main raw material used in producing crystalline modules, in the past the supply was low and demand high therefore prices increased dramatically. Recently, the supply increased for silicon and has leveled out the price to a reasonable affordable amount, thus lowering the price of crystalline modules.

For PPA applications, ASP is setting up a model to incorporate the lowest cost structure in building a Solar Farm, through complete vertical integration.
