Solar Module Line Process Engineer

Responsibilities:

Design, successfully demonstrate and coordinate solar cell production line equipment and the processes required in order to deliver turnkey solutions to our customers. Additional details:

  • Support new solar cell line installation, setup and development to ensure the consistent manufacturing of quality products.
  • Support the transfer of solar process/equipment from manufacturing to production (including establishment of a repeatable, statistically controlled and well documented manufacturing processes).
  • Conduct process improvement projects on assigned equipment/process while ensuring all documentation is transferred completely.
  • Perform root cause analysis with detailed tracking in order to develop and implement solar cell line process improvements.
  • Approve acceptance criteria for equipment and technology between ASP, customer, and suppliers.
  • While working at customer’s site, successfully demonstrate equipment and technology capabilities to achieve customer specification.
  • Train customer personnel on solar cell fabrication and testing processes.
  • May act as Project Manager for independent cell line projects.

Job Qualifications:

  • BS in electrical, chemical, or mechanical engineering or equivalent experience (MS preferred)
  • 5 years (minimum) experience in silicon solar cell processing or research
  • 5 years (minimum) experience in technical manufacturing, consulting, or R&D
  • Must have solar cell line equipment experience
  • Demonstrate problem solving and innovative design skills
  • Experience with corrective action implementation routines
  • Ability to manage projects/ people
  • Hands-on, electro-mechanical trouble-shooting ability preferred
  • Fluent in verbal/written English
  • Must be willing and able to travel domestically and internationally (apprx 50-60% of the time) with possible extended visits (3-4 weeks)
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and passport is required
